You can request deletion of the personal data Routeless holds about you at any time. This page explains what we store, how to request deletion, and what happens when you do.
1. What Data We Store
Depending on how you interacted with Routeless or a business using Routeless, we may store:
- Contact details you shared (name, email, phone number)
- Messages you exchanged with a business through our platform — including website chat, SMS, WhatsApp, email, and Instagram direct messages
- Comments that triggered an automated reply on a business's Instagram post
- Lead and inquiry records created from those conversations
2. Instagram and Meta Platform Data
If you interacted with a business's Instagram account that is connected to Routeless:
- Unsending a message: if you delete (unsend) a message you sent on Instagram, Meta notifies us and we automatically redact our stored copy of that message.
- Opting out: reply STOP in the conversation at any time and automated messages to you will cease. Reply START to opt back in.
- Disconnecting an account (businesses): if you are a business and disconnect your Instagram account from Routeless, we immediately delete the stored access credentials for that account.
3. How to Request Full Deletion
Email team@routeless.io with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include:
- The name, email address, phone number, or Instagram username your data may be stored under
- The business you interacted with, if you know it
We will verify the request, delete the associated personal data from our systems, and confirm completion by email within 30 days. Data held in encrypted backups is purged on the backup rotation schedule (no longer than 90 days).
4. What Deletion Covers
A deletion request removes your contact details, message history, and lead records from Routeless systems. Note that:
- Messages also exist in the other party's inbox (e.g., the business's Instagram account or your own Instagram app); deleting our copy does not remove those.
- We may retain minimal records where required by law (e.g., billing records for businesses).
